TIME’S UP FOR NEW OIL AND GAS PROJECTS. PERIOD.

TIME’S UP FOR NEW OIL AND GAS PROJECTS. PERIOD.

It’s simple, we can’t build any new oil or gas projects. We already have enough to cause a climate apocalypse.

But the disastrous Willow Project was just approved and could be catastrophic to Alaska’s North Slope — and in California, a jaw-dropping 338 permits have been approved in March alone for oil and gas drilling.

The thought of megacorporations putting profits over people — valuing oil drilling over the health of our children — makes me sick. It is absolutely unacceptable. That’s why I’m personally asking you to join Greenpeace USA in standing up to the oil industry now: please let us know — do you agree that we must fight back against corporations putting profits over the health of our neighbors and our planet?

A few months ago, it would have been illegal to drill a new well for oil and gas right next to California neighborhoods, but the oil and gas companies spent $20 million on a misleading campaign to pause the law passed last year to protect our communities. They’re drilling right in our backyards — and we’re paying the price.

Living near a drilling site has been linked to increased rates of preterm births, infant mortality, asthma, and cancer — and this pollution disproportionately impacts Black, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, immigrant, and low-income communities.

It’s time for us to fight back. This community of climate activists has been able to make incredible progress — including advocating to get a Global Ocean Treaty agreed on to protect the planet — because grassroots supporters have stood up for what’s right. If we’re going to convince elected officials to put a HALT to oil and gas projects, we need you on board.

We’re running out of time to stop the oil and gas industry from building their next climate bomb.

I’m so grateful that you’re part of this team. Together, I know we can build a more sustainable future.
